Ivy vol. 2 A Sweet Moment

Ivy’s second album A Sweet Moment was released Feb. 14 2007. And contained a handful of Korean Hits.
♡ Track 1 C♡pido
The album opens with the cutesy pop of C♡pido. It starts off with bouncy synths accompanied by guitar with Ivy purring and whispering in a sexy voice “Hey Boy”. Soon after the first verse comes in and its all fun from there. Ivy raps with a mixture of English and Korean and it works perfectly. Next the chorus comes in with a full bang and it makes you wanna get off your chair and dance. After the second verse and chorus Ivy turns up the sex appeal telling us to “Hey come over….I’ll give you want you want”.
Rating 9/10
♡ Track 2 유혹의 소나타
유혹의 소나타 starts with 2 guys talking about checking out Miss Ivy. Then the chorus come and it sounds very similar to C♡pido with Ivy rapping in a really sexy voice. The chorus is what makes this song. Fun and sexy it samples For Elise from classical composer Beethoven in a way you’d never expect. This song is full of twists and turns when the chorus is over. One minute sexy then another balled inspired. In the middle of the song is a little break from singing with some guy (I have no idea who) raping. Then Ivy goes into ballad mode with her amazing voice. This song is easy to get addicted to no wonder why it was release as her first single off this album.
Rating 7/10
♡ Track 3 이럴거면
After all the upbeat and sexy songs comes 이럴거면. 이럴거면 (Eeralgeomyeon) is your everyday typical Korean Ballad. It starts off with a piano and builds up a bit toward the chorus. After the first verse things get a little boring and predictable. The highlight of this song however is Ivy’s amazing vocals.
Rating 5/10
♡ Track 4 Ever
Next up is the American inspired hip hop song Ever. The song starts off with some clapping and a guy rapping then Ivy lets us know that its “Verse One”. Ivy’s vocals soar over hip hop beats perfectly. The chorus comes and Ivy is all attitude. After the chorus we hear a rapper (again I have no idea who it is) then of course Ivy comes in with her stellar vocals making it one of the best tracks on this album.
Rating 8.5/10
♡ Track 5 1 to 10
1 to 10 starts off with Ivy singing “Oh please take my hand I don’t wanna leave you so don’t let go” acapella. After that its all down hill. This song sounds extremely dated like something from the late 80s’ or early 90′s. The verses are boring and the chorus isn’t catchy.
Rating 2/10
♡ Track 6 이별이 다 그렇죠
Next up is another ballad 이별이 다 그렇죠. Starting off very similar to 이럴거면 this song seems like it could get pretty boring however unlike the previous ballad it’s not. The the chorus shows of Ivy’s voice perfectly. Sad and emotional lyrics fit Ivy’s voice amazingly.
Rating 7/10
♡ Track 7 그날까지
You guessed it, another ballad. However this one is actually listen able. The song stars off with beautiful guitar. Then Ivy’s vocals come into play. Beautiful and peaceful Ivy sounds. The chorus comes in with a smooth r&b twist making this song more enjoyable. Its by far her best ballad on her second album.
Rating 7/10
♡ Track 8 좋아
좋아 brings Ivy back to her sexy and fun roots. This song starts off with sexy hip hop beats that make you wanna shake your behind. The verse comes and Ivy has never sounded sexier. Playful she whispers and she draws you in. Never for a minute does Ivy let you forget how sexy she is. As she sings over sexy beats this song gets better and better.
Rating 8/10
♡ Track 9 The Message (From IVY)
Every album has a song that straight out sucks and this is it. Much like 1 to 10 this song sounds like something for another decade. There isnt one thing I like about this song. NEXT!
Rating 2/10
♡ Track 10 사랑아 어떻해
After the last piece of crap called a song is 사랑아 어떻해. It’s another one of Ivy’s typical ballads. 사랑아 어떻해 , like her other ballads, shows of Ivy’s stunning vocals. The only good part of this song is the bridge where Ivy’s voice blows this song outta the water.
Rating 5/10
♡ Track 11 Nu Trend
Nu Trend is defiantly what is need after another boring ballad. Much like her other r&b/pop songs, Ivy truly shines. The verses are filled with attitude like Ivy’s got something to prove. The chorus sneaks up and takes the song to a whole new level. Ivy’s voice is perfect. Like most K-r&b this song has a male raper which thankfully he doesn’t rap very long. The bridge sneaks up on us and Ivy really uses her voice in a way I wish she would more. Powerful and strong Ivy puts her voice to work.
Rating 7.5/10
♡ Track 12 Gotta Do
Gotta Do is another highlight of this album. Sticking with the R&B streak, Ivy commands attention with every word and doesn’t disappoint. The chorus is a bit repetitive with Ivy singing “Gotta Do Gotta Do” over and over again. In the middle of the song comes a suprize. Ivy starts raping. She defiantly could make it as a raper with her sexy voice. After the short rap Ivy comes back full swinging with her powerful vocals.
Rating 8/10
♡ Track 13 Antonio’s song
Antonio’s song is a very unexpected cover song. It starts of slow with Ivy’s smooth and sexy vocals over a bossa nova beat. The most exciting thing about this song is Ivy sings English. Her voice flows with this song better than most on this album. However this song can get a bit boring after a few listens.
Rating: 6.5/10
♡ Track 14 I Know
I know is an pretty much the same as 이별이 다 그렇죠 but its in English.
Rating 7/10
Overall this album has more highs than lows. Ivy can be sexy one minute ,cute the next, and a diva another. This album is probably one of my favs from 2007 and a must buy if your a K-pop fan
